Non - member Family Sues Over customer status Bullying
Edison Park, Chicago -- A $2 million lawsuit has been filed by the family of a non-member customer at meddling market- claiming their daughter has been the victim of customer status bullying. The lawsuit filed in US District Court in the Loop says security at Meddling Market failed to act. They say their daughter was bullied by Members who text-messaged her status slurs and scrawled "Less preferred" on her front door.
The lawsuit says the status abuse against non member - Penny Less - began in June 2006. Less is one of five non-members out of over a thousand customers daily.
Irving Bernard Meddling, owner, says the lawsuit has no merit, "If Penny would be more compliant and conform to our side then she simply wouldn't have to worry to begin with." Less attorney, Al Coholic of Miller Place, said Meddling staff allowed the abuse to continue by taking no action against the members who sent the messages.
Al says in one incident Less was provoked into a Market fight by the members who led the abuse. Both were suspended for three days, but the Market failed to acknowledge that customer status abuse was at the root of the fight and found that equal punishment was in order.
